Why do you use a note?
You use a note to reduce recollection of a memory.
The recollection of a memory costs resources and your brain is not optimized to maintain certain collections of memories (e.g., administrative information).
Why do you use a log note?
You use a log note to reduce recollection of actions.
So, you use log notes when
- the cost of recalling actions using your brain is higher than recalling actions using your notes.
- there is another benefit to using the log note (e.g., collaboration).
Why don't you use log notes?
You do not need notes when you are focused on a task for a time period.
Suppose you do not have the resources (e.g., energy, time) to finish a task.
You write down the context of your environment on a note for reference later.
Later, you do not need to recall the context of your environment when you read your note.
Alternatively, you may share the context of your environment with another person who reads your note to finish the task you were working on.
This work is required for a collection of tasks because the human brain does not have an infinite mental capacity.
